St. Louis Zoo Kitty Kitty

St. Louis Zoo Kitty Kitty

Went to the Zoo awhile back and never went through the photos. Finally got the time and look, I found this little gem.

This was taken at the long end of my 75-300mm Tamron lens. I bought it used at an unnamed local camera shop that I no longer shop at.

Check out the color version here.

Whoa, that's quite the lens. How far away from the cat were you? And what happened at the unnamed local camera shop? That's the real story...

Yeah, not a bad lens, I picked it up for around $120 or so, it's a 300mm so it can zoom in quite a bit. I think I was around 50 yards away.

The unnamed camera shop is none other than Creve Coeur Camera. I was going to flame that whole situation out on the blog but the owner called and got it sorted. I still won't shop there though, no way.

Hey, thats's a nice shot. I'm currently planning to add a 70-300mm lens to my equippment for my Canon 400D and came through that tamron-lens you mentioned above. As an alternative I'm thinking about a Canon 70-300m IS USM -lens (not the L-Series), which is indeed more expensive than that Tamron-lens. Do you have any experience with that Canon-lens compared to the Tamron?

Joe, I love your website and your photography! Your work is amazing! I especially like this picture which you took at the zoo. I wonder if this cat knows how really cool he is! Well, just for the record, he is a Real Cool Cat! And this is a Real Cool Picture.
