• Photographing friends with the ring light
  

  My friends Lauren and Erin were kind enough to test out my new diy ring light today. This is a good example of what you can produce with your very own diy ring light.

Great portrait, great use of the 'thirds', Curious if you did a gaussian blur outside the face or if it was all great focus work at the time of shot? Love the site, keep up the tutorials.

Sorry for the delay. There was quite a bit of processing here but I believe most of the blur is in-camera. I did sharpen the details in the face more than the rest but don't believe I did a blur.

Nicely done. You've made a great choice keeping the models face out of the direct sun.
